Trip to Northeast

August 20:
We'd re-booked our flight to New Jersey since we had to cancel it in June due to Jerry being in the hospital with pneumonia. Just to make sure the flight was still on schedule, I called Continental; all the details were still the same. However, when we got to the airport, the clerk said our tickets weren't valid because we had a charge back on our credit card! The only way we could make the flight was to buy yet another set of tickets, which we did. (Count 'em. That makes three sets.) Finally, we were in the air, flying to see Rob and Cassie which we'd been trying to do for months.

Those two, faces grinning, picked us up at the airport and we drove to their condo in Jersey City. Their condo is absolutely perfect for two people and one feisty cat. It is in an old refurbished Ticonderoga pencil factory so some of the factory elements are still there. They even have their own parking space at this place!! That doesn't sound like a big deal here but when they still lived in Hoboken, they would drive around and around for up to an hour, searching for a parking spot for the evening.
